Albert L. Sorrell was born to the union of Amos and
Quillar Mae Sorrell, April 5, 1952, in Saltillo, Miss. He attended
Popular Elementry School and
graduated from Thrasher High School in
Booneville, Miss. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in June of
1973. He was awarded the Joint Military Service Medal for outstanding
service and honorably discharged in July of 1977. Albert resided in
Detroit, Michigan for two years where he served on the ministerial staff
under the leadership of the late Pastor Charlene McGoughy in The Church of the
Living God, the Pillar and the Ground of the Truth. In August 1979
Albert relocated to Linden, New Jersey. In July, 1980 he traveled to
Sandusky, Ohio to marry Pamela E. Castile who was pastored and mentored
by the late Bishop William James of Greater St. James, Church of God In Christ in Fremont, Ohio.
They lived in New Jersey 25 years, until July 2005. Born to their union
was Jessica Elaine, 24, who is now happily married to a wonderful man of God, Kevin
Bullock. To Jessica and Kevin's union their first child and Albert and
Pamela's grandaughter was born, a beautiful girl, Alexis Bullock. Pastor
Al and Pam's three sons are, Joshua Lee, 22, Kareem Andre Sorrell,14,
and Peter Thomas
Sorrell, 13.
Pamela
graduated from Bowling Green State University in June of 1979 where she
earned a double major in Elementary and Special Education. Albert
earned
a Master of Divinity degree from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey
May 24, 1997.
Latter
Rain Ministries was founded in September 1985. They began
having services in the basement of their home and continued to rent
various places until
God blessed the church to purchase a sanctuary for the ministry in
Fords, New Jersey in November 1999. In 2005, Elder Madison Sellers Jr.,
Pastor Sorrell's
long time assistant pastor, was Installed as Senior Pastor. In July, '05
the Sorrells relocated to Gainesville, Florida to establish a new
ministry. In November of 2005 God blessed them with a beautiful
sanctuary and land for expansion of the ministry. Since the grand
opening in August of 2006, God has graced the
ministry with wonderful people who are committed to the vision. We are New
Creation Fellowship Church, Inc. All people are welcome.
